Catherine Anne

 Catherine Anne O'Hara, OC was born March 4 1954. She is a comedian from Canada as well as an actress and writer. O'Hara has won a number of awards including the Genie Award, a Golden Globe Award and two Screen Actors Guild Awards. In addition, she was awarded two Primetime Emmy Awards and six Canadian Screen Awards. In 2018, O'Hara was named to the rank of an Officer of Canada. She also received the Governor General’s Performing Arts Lifetime Artistic Achievement Medal in 2020. O'Hara made her name as an actress when she was a part of 1974 of The Second City, an comedy troupe that was based in Toronto. Along with John Candy (1975-1978), she was part of the main casting in the sitcom Coming Up Rosie (1975-1978). O'Hara joined Candy in the sketch comedy series Second City Television (1976-1984). She received the attention of critics both for her acting and writing skills and was awarded the Primetime Emmy Award, 1981 for Outstanding Writing in a Variety Series. O'Hara was appointed to the Second City artistic advisory panel in 2022 by Stephen Colbert.
